Grandma Skills – Lefse Making

Lefse is a delicate and soft Norwegian flatbread. The ingredients are simple, the technique is time-honored, and the recipe of potatoes, flour, butter, and cream is wonderful. Each piece is cooked on a large flat griddle using special tools, including a long wooden turning stick and a deeply grooved wooden rolling pin. Join Terry Kelzer, a local lefse legend, as she demonstrates the techniques and discusses the tools required. What’s even better, enjoy tasting the very best in traditional lefse dishes. If you have your own lefse equipment, feel free to bring it with. Everyone should be able to make and take a ½ dozen lefse home with them.
