Lefse is a delicate Norwegian flatbread – the ingredients are simple, the technique is time-honored, and the recipe of potatoes, flour, butter, and cream is wonderful. Each piece of lefse is cooked on a large flat griddle using special tools, including a long wooden turning stick and a deeply grooved wooden rolling pin. Learn from Terry Kelzer, a local lefse legend, as she demonstrates the techniques and discusses the tools and history.
If you have your own lefse equipment feel free to bring it with. Everyone should be able to make and take a ½ dozen lefse home with them. We invite all ages and abilities to attend.
