PowerUp Does Dinner: After School Cooking at Farm Table

March Theme: Tacos and Toppings

This after school kids’ cooking class will give students (ages 8-12) hands-on experiences with a variety of essential cooking skills, help them learn to read recipes, adjust measurements, and practice teamwork and organization. During each class students will prepare a dinner entrée. They will then share the recipe, skills used, and a taste with parents/guardians at the end of the class.

Students have the option to take the school bus from Amery Intermediate School to Farm Table (110 Keller Ave N, Amery, WI). Parents/guardians must send a note to school, with the student, giving permission to ride the bus to Farm Table to attend the cooking class.

Example:

Susie has my permission to ride the bus to Farm Table tonight after school.

Parents/guardians may join the class but are not required to attend. All parents/guardians are invited to arrive at about 4:45 PM, before the end of the class, to taste-test the students’ culinary creations and see what the class learned that day.
