Sweet and Savory Scones
July 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This sounds too good to be true, frankly! Join Sue Nielsen, Farm Table’s very own Pastry Chef and Preservation Manager, for the third class in her popular “Sweet and Savory” series. Sue’s classes are fun, informative, hands-on (you’ll get your hands dirty), and you’ll take home a couple scones as well!
This time Sue will focus on a favorite baked good: scones! Specifically she’ll guide you through the process of baking lemon-rosemary scones as well as ham and scallion scones (with lemon herb chevre–goat cheese). Here Sue briefly describes each scone:
– Lemon–rosemary scones are perfect with breakfast and tea…or dessert for that matter. The scones are just barely sweet, perfectly tangy with lemon, and then …then there’s that hint of piney freshness offered by the rosemary.
– Fluffy ham and scallion scones with lemon herb chevre feature generous chunks of local ham and scallions with a lemon herb chevre spread. Perfect for breakfast or at a party. Keep in your freezer for a quick snack when unexpected company arrives or a grab-and-go breakfast.
