Happy Hour in the Garden: Gardening as Knowledge

July 8, 6:30 PM | $15
Farm Table’s garden & patio

In the height of summer, let’s take a break and think about how the experience of gardening is enriching our lives. We will share some of our favorite lessons learned along the way, and the many ways that gardening continues to teach us…

July 24, 9:00 AM | $15-$20
Hungry Turtle Farm

We’ll have time for conversation and time for seated or walking meditation outdoors. We trust you’ll leave with a hint of a renewed connection to the natural world and to your food, and with some ideas about creating a more compassionate society.

Summer in a Bowl of Risotto

August 26, 6:30 PM | $35
in person at Farm Table Foundation

Celebrate being together again along with summer’s vegetables bursting from the garden! Terry will demonstrate two different fresh vegetable risottos and (unlike Zoom classes!) we’ll conclude with a generous tasting of each!

ARTIST RECEPTION | JULY 23, 6 PM

Join us for Emily Anderson’s Looking Up art opening and reception at Farm Table Foundation’s gallery on Friday, July 23. Light refreshments & wine provided.

From Emily Anderson:

I am a painter of landscapes and a wife and a mom.

I have studied art and been an artist my entire life but hit a creative wall in my late teens. After many years, the need to create started to physically bubble up inside of me again. In 2019, I began to intentionally study painting again. For over a year I practiced and read and devoured all things painting. Then 2020 hit, and with the great fear of the unknown and what was to come, I began painting in earnest. What came out surprised and soothed me; happily, it did the same for others.

My love for the outdoors deeply inspires my artwork; the urge to capture the beauty of endangered areas and sacred spaces within nature is a driving force that keeps me creating.

Quality and accessibility are important to me, and are a common thread in my work as an artist and a small business owner. I paint originals on canvas and then create high quality reproductions of the paintings so that my work can be accessible for all budgets.

I hope that you find something you love here.

In gratitude,

Emily

Classes, Events & Exhibits

Farm Table Foundation seeks to engage our community in a wide-ranging discussion about how best to prepare and utilize locally produced foods. To that end we have a suite of cooking and preserving classes that focus on traditional approaches to getting the most out of food. These classes, workshops and events allow community members and visitors alike to expand their understanding of seasonality, farming issues and preservation techniques — everything from pickling, to proper seed care, to wild herb identification, to seasonal food pairings. Farming and food preparation/preservation are at the very core of what makes human cultures unique. Farm Table Foundation is thrilled to be part of this ancient adventure that frequently takes on new dimensions as it comes in contact with alert and creative participants. We hope to see you soon in Amery so you can be a part of making local food both timeless and contemporary.
